jarrett, where are you?
Wow, just realized I only wrote in here once this month. Not a good thing at all. I returned to work a little earlier than planned so it created a bit of a havoc. Even with that we were still able to have fun. God has blessed us with the opportunity for Marvin to stay home and take advantage of his FMLA/CFRA rights, so he has 12 weeks at home with Jarrett that will end on November 27. Over the last month, we spent a week in Las Vegas, Nevada. During that time we went outlet shopping, went to Red Rock Canyon, went to the Ethel M. Chocolate Factory and visited Hoover Dam. Coincidentally, Marvin's grandfather was in Vegas for a funeral that week, so Jarrett also got to meet his great grandfather. I am very happy that Jarrett got that opportunity as I'm really not sure when we would have had a chance to get to Fordyce, Arkansas. We also recently went to the LA County Fair. Jarrett loves going to all these places. He is such a curious and intuitive baby and going out just gives him such a wonderful sense of happiness.
So what's happened with Jarrett? Jarrett turned 4 months old on the 19th of September. Not much is going on with him. He is a big boy, looks like a football player already. He loves to laugh and baby talk and he can kinda sorta sit up on his own. Does leaning to the front count after a minute? Jarrett's gotten 100% better at the bottle - Daddy is now able to give it to him without any problems. YEAH!!!! Well, that's all I can think of at the moment. I will add pictures later.

packing away the newborns
I just got through packing away Jarrett's size NB (newborn) clothes. How sad! I can't believe he used to be so little and I can't believe how much he's grown. I put one of the little outfits next to him to see the difference and it is AMAZING!!! You never believe it when other people tell you how fast they grow till you see it for yourself.
Well, I guess we'll be going shopping over the next week for some new clothes for him, we'll be around some outlets so I'm hoping to get some great deals for him. It's kinda fun to have someone new to shop for! Thank you Lord for blessing me with this amazing gift named Jarrett. I don't feel like I can say thank you enough.

it's 1:35am
Well, I am awake. It is not because Jarrett has kept me awake, as a matter of fact he went to bad probably 3 hours ago. I'm up because I can't sleep and don't really feel like going to sleep. We had a busy day, went shopping at the mall, then went to Home Depot and Target and went for a drive so Jarrett is tired out, but me, just chilling on the Internet. It is crazy when I get free time because I'm really not sure what to do with myself at that time. I know there are things I want to do like scrapbooking, clean the baseboards of my house with a paintbrush, relax my hair, read some magazines, but now that I have the free time I really don't feel like doing any of those things. Oh well!
Let me see, what's been going on with Jarrett? He talks a lot like I've mentioned before. He hasn't said any words this week but they are coming. He has really strong kicks. He likes to put everything in his mouth that he picks up now. He can hold his head up pretty well. He took his first professional pictures at Sears this week (did I mention that?). He slept in his crib in his own room for the first time this week. He has this wonderful smile that he gives me when he first wakes up in the morning and sees me. He can imitate a few sounds that we make. Oh, he took a bottle (1 oz.) from me today - it was the cheapo Gerber one. He likes to take up a lot of space when he sleeps with his hands and legs out wide. He likes tv. He still has a lot of hair - someone said it would fall out at 2 months, nope not my son - he's got mommy's thick hair. He likes to be upside down - if he's on a boppy pillow, he likes to make his head go upside down - this can be somewhat scary at times. He seems like he will soon be able to sit up on his own, well at least it looks like he is trying to do it. He can sit very happily in his swing while I cook dinner. He has greatly reduced crying when we are at a stop light or in traffic - my baby was obviously born in the wrong state. That's all I can think of at the moment.
Oh, I'm searching for a babysitter for him. I put an ad on craigslist, and so far I've gotten some good responses. I will start doing interviews next week. We shouldn't need a babysitter till end of November/beginning of December. I'm hoping I can find someone loving and caring that can be Jarrett's dayma.
