thanksgiving helper & winter at disneyland
Jarrett is growing up so fast. He loves the moon, planes, trains and very big cars. At this point I'm thinking he's going to be an astronaut. But his loves changes every few months so we'll see again in another few months. Lately, he's been a very good helper in the kitchen. During Thanksgiving, Jarrett helped me make all the baked goods by cracking the eggs, adding the cinnamon, adding the pumpkin pie spice mix and his favorite just mixing the batter. Actually his favorite is licking the bowl afterwards. Since then anytime I need a cracked egg, Jarrett is the guy. He's the best egg cracker in the whole world (as long as you don't mind a few shells in it). Right now Jarrett is also enjoying the Christmas season, he loves seeing Santa and loves watching all the Christmas lights that are up during the season.

lots of firsts...
Jarrett had a pretty busy month, doing a lot of firsts. He went to his first and second circus. On the second visit to the circus he got to sit in a suite which was nice because it gave him the freedom to move around. Jarrett went camping for the first time; took swimming lessons for the first time; took a dive for the first time (I'm suprised he did this as I thought he wouldn't go on the diving board by himself but nope he was a little scared at first but after that went right along with the teacher); went on a horse for the first time (suprised he did this also, because he wasn't too fond of the carousel ride at Disneyland); and the list goes on. Those are the ones I can remember at the top of my head. We love the summer because it gives us an opportunity to do so many summer activities and Jarrett just loves playing outside. Some of his other favorite activities are:
1. Drawing on the walls, the tv, the mirrors, the table, you name it he wants to draw on it. The washable markers were great in the beginning but now it seems he will use any writing utensil to create his art anywhere.
2. Watching Little Einsteins, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Handy Manny, Curious George and Play with me Sesame.
3. Playing outside in the dirt, sand, garden - he likes this even better when there's water added to the mix.
4. Learning his letters, colors, shapes and numbers
5. Loves the number 9
6. Loves summer fruits such as mangos and peaches
7. Loves a nice, cold glass of water
8. Loves the word WOW!
9. Can recognize Toy's R Us from afar. The other day we went to Joann's and Toys R Us was next door. Jarrett took off sprinting to TRU. I did not know he could recognize it. Marvin says we go there too frequently but honestly I feel like we hardly go there. It's very fascinating to see what stays in their little minds.
10. Loves seeing mommy and daddy when they home from work. He starts dancing and clapping and laughing. It's a wonderful thing.
And now, presenting pictures from the last month, tadadada.......
Jarrett's first ride on a miniature horse (or any horse for that matter)

Posing on the horse for me

The horse just gave Jarrett a kiss

Brushing the horse's hair

Playing on his slide

Already knows which school he's going to

Just a nice picture

At the circus with mommy

At the circus with daddy

His first camping trip - Jarrett enjoyed the fact that he got to play outside in the dirt as long as he wanted to and never had to go inside

Jarrett enjoyed our real tent so much I decided to buy him his own indoor tent after our trip - this is the first time he went into it

A typical little boy after playing in the sandbox with water

His first trip to Chuck E Cheese - he loved this ride - not sure why I spend so much at Disneyland when I can go here and spend a quarter per ride.

Enjoying the water on a hot summer day

Playing with his sprinkler ball

Eating an icee to cool down after church

Playing with his cousin

Jarrett making his own art on the blackboard

Erasing his name on the blackboard
