can you believe it? 18 months

Jarrett has been in this world for 18 months. His energy and independence make it seem like it has been so much more. At this time in Jarrett's life, he LOVES Sesame Street, LOVES Elmo, when he sees Elmo when we are out he always wants to point him out to me. He loves playing outside, running outside and loves playing with kids. Jarrett likes Disneyland, loves going on the fast rides and yelling weeeeeeee......He is very social and is definitely becoming his own little man.

We have 2 cd's that have Jarrett's name inserted through the cd. This one is the Elmo version and Jarrett cracks up when he hears this song. It is so funny. I was in line at Costco waiting to get gas at $1.84 (can you believe it?) and I heard Jarrett cracking up and I just had to capture it on video.

just testing

I'm bored on a Saturday afternoon so I'm testing out my Hallmark scrapbook software I bought during Black Friday 2007.

...........Doesn't really work like I want it to but maybe I need to buy an upgrade. Nothing like waiting a year before testing out the products you purchased to make sure they work correctly.

ETA at 2:35am........with the help of my techie husband I finally figured it out, YEAH!!!!

hope everyone had a 'roary' halloween

Instead of going trick or treating Jarrett stayed home to pass out candy. Here are some pictures of him waiting for others to come by and just roaring around.

The cub and his mommy.

Mommy, aren't I cute as a lion cub?

Trying to get rid of his paws.

Getting ready to pass out some candy.

The lion cub looking at possible food.

The lion cub crawling up the stairs.

After passing out candy to kiddies, Jarrett was ready to start taking off his costume and call it a night.

i am 17 months old

It seems like forever since there has been an update but not so, it's only been 20 days. There hasn't been much going on. Jarrett is growing physically, emotionally and intellectually. He's a bundle of joy and cuteness. I can't really think of much to say, so since a picture is worth a thousand words, let's see how many words I can add...

This is Jarrett's first trip to Disneyland. We are waiting for the tram to take us in.

Jarrett and his best friend at Disneyland.

Jarrett is doing his part in helping to make phone calls to help his candidate of choice win the 2008 presidential election. I swear I had nothing to do with it :)

Doesn't Jarrett come from some wonderful genes? Here's my family at a function for my dad's organization - the Freetown Overseas League. For more information on this organization, please go to http://freetownoverseasleague@blogspot.com

Jarrett celebrated his 17 month birthday by taking a 2nd trip to Disneyland. Here he is about to go round and round on the teapot ride.

On Pinnochio - interested to see what's coming next.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, how many words is a video worth?

i am 16 months old

Jarrett turned 16 months old yesterday. He will be celebrating his birthday by going to the LA County Fair on Sunday and if he's good he'll get to go with Mommy to a bridal shower today(ETA...he was good).

Jarrett is a thrill a minute. He's so full of life, he keeps us on our toes. The last month brought us lots of joy, including but not limited to the following:

PHONE HACKER: A week ago, he was playing with my cell phone. It's not unusual for him to call people and I just say it's Jarrett calling. I was laying down relaxing and all of a sudden I heard someone speaking Krio, I thought someone had called our phone and I missed hearing the phone ring and the answering machine had picked up. After a couple of messages I realized that wasn't our phone. Jarrett had called my parent's house and somehow pressed the correct codes that got through to their voicemail. We were hearing all of my parent's messages! Oh no, Jarrett is a phone hacker!!!!!!!!

HATS: One day while we hung out in the garage, Marvin put one of his old hats on Jarrett. Since then, anything that looks like a hat goes on Jarrett's head. He loves finding bowls, cups, pretty much anything round to put on his head to pretend it is his hat.

HANG OUT: We moved some furniture around in the den. I love the layout but Jarrett loves it even more. He's found a spot that he calls all his own. He loves taking a bite to eat and going and sitting in his spot and eating out or just relaxing there.

PLAYING OUTSIDE: Jarrett loves to play outside. He likes to go to the backyard or even the garage sometimes to just play. This is great because it forces us to get up and go out and do something!

INDEPENDENT RUNNER: I'm amazed how fast this little thing is. Since he's so little and can fit in little spaces he is sometimes hard to catch. He loves having us run and chase after him.

WHAT HE LIKES TO EAT: This month we realized Jarrett loves biting into fruits. He loves having a nice juicy peach or plum or nectarine or strawberry and taking a BIG bite out of it.

HOBBIES: Reading books, Watching Play with me Sesame (or whatever is on Sprout), playing outside, playing with water, hiding rverything, playing with cabinets, discovering what's in the house, coloring, running from room to room, playing basketball, singing.
