On May 3, 2009, Marvin, Jarrett and I will walk for babies. The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.
More specifically, we will be walking for Baby Sterling (born on June 4, 2004 at 1 lb 1 oz.) and for Baby Serena (born on February 14, 2005 at 1 lb 1 oz). Both babies were born too early due to an incompetent cervix.
Please help support the March of Dimes so that medical research, solutions and alternatives can be found so that babies won't be born prematurely and for those who are, that the care will be there to help them survive.

Other related information: ABC News recently carried a story on incompetent cervix and the Transabdominal Cerclage. This cerclage (plus lots and lots and lots of prayers) is responsible for allowing me to carry my baby Jarrett to term.
